Young People and Guardian Notice

How Pathway Select approaches information, consent and support when a user is under 18.
Updated 23 July 2026 3 minute read

1. Purpose

Young people, school leavers and families may use Pathway Select to explore education and career pathways. This notice explains our operational approach when a user is under 18.

It should be read with our Privacy Policy and Privacy Collection and Consent Notice.

2. Clear and age-appropriate information

We aim to explain important matters in language that is clear and appropriate for the intended audience, including what information is collected, why it is needed, whether it will be shared and what choice the young person has.

3. Parent or guardian involvement

A person under 18 may explore general public information. Depending on age, maturity, the service requested, provider requirements and the sensitivity of information, Pathway Select may require or recommend involvement from a parent, guardian or authorised support person.

As an operational safeguard, users under 16 should generally use personalised referral or consultation services with a parent or guardian involved unless there is a sound reason and lawful basis to proceed differently.

4. Education-provider requirements

An education provider may require parent or guardian consent for enrolment, fees, excursions, placement, data sharing or other activities. Pathway Select does not determine those requirements and cannot override them.

5. Information we may collect

We may collect a young person’s name, age range, contact details, location, education circumstances, pathway interests, preferences and information needed to respond to a request.

Where a guardian is involved, we may also collect the guardian’s name, contact details, relationship and authority to assist.

6. Minimising information

We aim not to collect more information than reasonably needed. Young people should not provide passports, licences, medical records, school records, police checks, financial details or other sensitive documents through general forms or Morrow.

7. Morrow

Morrow is an AI-assisted tool and may make mistakes. Young users should discuss important education, funding, placement, employment and wellbeing decisions with a trusted adult and confirm information with the relevant provider or authority.

Morrow is not designed to provide emergency, crisis, medical, legal, child-protection or counselling support.

8. Consent and referrals

Before identifiable information is sent to a provider or partner, Pathway Select will seek appropriate consent based on the circumstances and applicable law. A provider may separately require guardian consent.

A young person or guardian may ask what information will be shared and may decline a referral.

9. Marketing

Pathway Select should not treat a young person’s basic enquiry as unrestricted marketing consent. Promotional communication choices should be clear and appropriate to age and circumstances.

Marketing can be unsubscribed from at any time.

10. Access, correction and family requests

A young person may ask about, access or correct personal information subject to applicable law and reasonable identity checks. A parent or guardian does not automatically have unrestricted access in every situation; authority, maturity, safety, confidentiality and legal obligations may need to be considered.

11. Safety and wellbeing

If content suggests an immediate risk of serious harm, Pathway Select may take reasonable steps permitted by law, which can include encouraging urgent support or disclosing information to an appropriate authority where necessary.

For immediate danger, call emergency services. Pathway Select is not an emergency or crisis service.

12. Placement and work environments

Young people may face additional legal, supervision, safety, scheduling or consent requirements for work placement. The education provider and host must confirm these requirements before placement begins.

13. Complaints

A young person, parent, guardian or authorised supporter may make a complaint. We aim to communicate in a way the young person can understand and to avoid unnecessary disclosure.

See our Complaints, Feedback and Review Policy.
