1. Application of these terms
These terms apply when Pathway Select provides personalised pathway guidance, a consultation, human follow-up, referral assistance or another student-support service. They operate with our Website Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and any specific terms shown when you request a service.
2. Our role
Pathway Select is an independent education pathway guidance and referral service. We help users understand possible pathways, compare relevant considerations, identify questions to ask and, where authorised, connect with providers or partners.
Unless expressly stated, Pathway Select does not deliver accredited training, issue qualifications, make provider enrolment decisions, determine funding eligibility, employ students, approve work placement or exercise government authority.
3. Services we may provide
Services may include:
- pathway discovery and course-direction guidance;
- general information about occupations, entry pathways and study options;
- indicative funding and eligibility information;
- consultation or adviser follow-up;
- provider or partner introductions with permission;
- placement-support triage; and
- information, reminders and practical next-step support.
The precise service depends on available information, capacity, location, provider coverage and the request you make.
4. Information you provide
You must provide accurate, current and complete information. Tell us if relevant circumstances change. Recommendations can be unsuitable if based on incomplete or incorrect information.
Do not provide another person’s information unless you have authority to act for them. Do not submit unnecessary identity or sensitive documents through ordinary forms or email.
5. Pathway guidance
Guidance is designed to narrow options and help you make a better-informed decision. It is not a guarantee that a particular course, occupation or provider is the best or only option.
Pathway Select may consider your stated goals, location, delivery preference, availability, prior education, employment circumstances, indicative eligibility information and partner coverage. Not every provider or pathway in the market will necessarily be included.
6. Course and provider verification
Before enrolling or paying, you must obtain current written information from the provider about:
- qualification code and status;
- entry and language requirements;
- fees, deposits, loans, subsidies and refund terms;
- delivery mode, duration, timetable and attendance;
- work-placement hours and host requirements;
- equipment, checks, licences and additional costs;
- credit transfer or recognition of prior learning;
- student support and complaint processes; and
- professional registration or employment implications.
7. Funding and eligibility
Funding and eligibility information is indicative. Rules may depend on residency, age, previous study, location, course, provider allocation, commencement date and other factors. Only the responsible provider or authority can confirm final eligibility and available funding.
“Free”, “subsidised” or similar wording does not necessarily mean there are no costs. Materials, services, checks, equipment, placement and other charges may apply.
8. Referrals
A referral occurs only when you request or authorise an introduction. Pathway Select may share information reasonably required for the referral, as described in the collection notice shown to you.
A provider is free to accept, decline or request more information. You are free to proceed, compare alternatives or decline contact. A referral does not create an enrolment or guarantee an outcome.
9. Commercial relationships
Pathway Select may receive a fee, commission or other benefit from a provider or partner if a referral progresses. This does not add a separate Pathway Select referral fee to you unless clearly disclosed before you agree to a paid service.
Read our Provider Referral and Commercial Disclosure.
10. Consultations and appointments
Where consultations are offered, booking availability may change. Arrive or connect on time and provide reasonable notice if you cannot attend. Pathway Select may reschedule where necessary.
If a consultation is paid, the price, inclusions, cancellation terms and refund arrangements must be shown before payment. Unless paid terms are expressly published, do not assume that a free enquiry creates an unlimited advisory service.
11. Communications
We may contact you using details you provide to respond to an enquiry, manage a consultation, progress a referral or provide service information. Promotional communications require an appropriate basis and can be opted out of.
Keep your contact details current and check messages from providers independently for legitimacy.
12. No guaranteed outcomes
Pathway Select does not guarantee:
- course admission or enrolment;
- government funding, a fee waiver or a “free” course;
- credit transfer, recognition of prior learning or completion;
- a work-placement host or placement date;
- employment, salary, licensing or professional registration;
- visa, migration or residency outcomes; or
- that every relevant provider or course will be available.
13. Your decision
You are responsible for deciding whether to proceed, reviewing provider documents, understanding costs and commitments, and seeking independent advice where needed. Do not sign an enrolment or finance document you do not understand.
14. Service refusal or suspension
We may decline, pause or end assistance where the request is outside our scope, information is unreliable, conduct is abusive, a conflict or safety concern exists, a suitable partner is unavailable, or continuing would be unlawful or impracticable.
15. Complaints
Tell us promptly if you believe Pathway Select gave misleading information, mishandled a referral or did not provide an agreed service. We will assess the issue under our Complaints, Feedback and Review Policy.
Complaints about a provider’s training, fees, assessment, enrolment or conduct should generally also be raised directly with that provider.
16. Consumer rights and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pathway Select is not responsible for decisions or conduct of independent providers, employers, placement hosts, government bodies or other third parties.
