1. Why this disclosure exists
Pathway Select operates a commercial pathway guidance and referral service. This disclosure explains how provider relationships may influence our service and what remains under your control.
2. Our referral model
Where you ask for help progressing a pathway, Pathway Select may introduce you to an education provider, registered training organisation, placement organisation, student-support service or another relevant partner.
A referral can involve sending your authorised details, arranging contact, providing a lead or helping coordinate next steps. A referral is not an enrolment and does not guarantee acceptance or an outcome.
3. Fees, commissions and other benefits
Pathway Select may receive a referral fee, commission, marketing payment, service fee or other commercial benefit from a provider or partner when a referral is made, accepted, enrolled, completed or reaches another agreed milestone.
The structure and amount can vary by partner and may not be known at the time general guidance is given. Unless clearly disclosed before you agree to a paid service, you are not charged a separate Pathway Select referral fee merely because a partner pays us.
4. Provider selection
Pathway Select may consider:
- your stated interests, location, delivery preferences and circumstances;
- course relevance and apparent eligibility;
- provider location, delivery and intake availability;
- provider responsiveness and service capability;
- data quality and confidence;
- placement or support coverage;
- student feedback and operational performance where available; and
- whether Pathway Select has an active commercial or referral relationship.
Not every suitable provider in the market will necessarily be represented. A partner relationship may affect which referrals Pathway Select is able to facilitate, but it should not be represented as proof that the provider is objectively best for every student.
5. Independence and conflicts
Pathway Select aims to present material commercial relationships clearly and avoid claims that could mislead users about independence. Commercial incentives can create a conflict between earning revenue and identifying the most suitable next step.
We manage this risk by disclosing our model, avoiding guaranteed or unsupported claims, allowing users to decline a referral and encouraging direct verification and comparison.
6. Your choice
You are not required to enrol with a referred provider. You may:
- ask why an option was suggested;
- request other available options;
- contact a provider directly;
- compare government and provider sources;
- decline contact or withdraw referral consent; and
- choose a provider that has no relationship with Pathway Select.
7. Information sharing
Pathway Select will share identifiable information for a referral only where you have requested or authorised the introduction, or where disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.
Information shared should be limited to what is reasonably required, such as your name, contact details, location, course interest, relevant preferences, indicative eligibility answers and the context of your request.
After an independent provider receives your information, its own privacy policy and practices apply.
8. Provider responsibility
Independent providers are responsible for their own:
- registration and regulatory compliance;
- course and marketing information;
- entry and funding assessments;
- fees, contracts, refunds and student loans;
- training, assessment and student support;
- placement arrangements;
- complaints and appeals; and
- employment or outcome claims.
Pathway Select does not control a provider merely because a commercial relationship exists.
9. No endorsement guarantee
A provider’s appearance on the website or receipt of a referral does not constitute a government endorsement, quality guarantee or promise that the provider is suitable for every person.
Check current registration, course scope, fees, delivery details and complaints information before enrolling.
10. Provider changes
Partners, commercial terms and service coverage may change. Pathway Select may add, remove, pause or replace referral partners without notice where reasonably necessary.
11. Complaints and concerns
If you believe a commercial relationship was not disclosed, a referral was unsuitable, pressure was applied or your information was shared without permission, contact support@pathwayselect.com.au.
We will assess the issue under our Complaints, Feedback and Review Policy. Complaints about provider conduct should also be made directly to the provider and, where appropriate, the relevant regulator or consumer authority.
12. Contact
Email support@pathwayselect.com.au or use our contact page to ask about a referral relationship.
